School to resume normally on Monday, November 2, 2020 Important News Alert

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Thanks to the swift action of the Holbrook Police Department, state police and district administration, the threat to our school system was investigated, identified, resolved and eliminated. School will resume normally on Monday. While I am deeply saddened that a reckless and egregious action led to the need to close school for the day, I stand firmly behind our safety-first response since we had been unable to conclusively determine the authenticity of a potentially dangerous situation by late last evening.  Again, thank you to our team who worked tirelessly all night and throughout today uncovering the threat and bringing a  safe resolution to this disturbing matter. Have a safe weekend, and we’ll see Cohort A on Monday!

Holbrook Public Schools closed Friday, October 30, 2020 Important Message from the Superintendent of Schools

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At approximately 6:40 pm a staff member received a communication via social media that there would be a cyber and additional threat to the school district for tomorrow. We are working closely with the local police, state police and additional agencies at this time, and expect to have answers and a resolution to this incident as soon as possible. That said, we are living in difficult times and while cyber threats have become more common to school systems due to the increased use of technology, I take any threat to the safety and well-being of my students, faculty and staff very seriously. To that end, the Holbrook Public Schools will be closed tomorrow October 30th so that we can finish collecting data, conclude our investigation and take necessary measures.

I know that during the pandemic any additional school closures unrelated to Covid-19 or weather are difficult to bear, but again, my top priority is the safety of everyone in our learning community and their families. Thank you all for your continued patience and support.
