Update to Student Time on Learning - January 2021

Student Learning Letter

Friday, January 15, 2021

Dear HMHS Parents and Guardians,

Good evening. In the previous parent communication last week, I shared with you a preview of changes that will increase the number of “live” instruction hours.  This communication will provide details of the increased expectation for online synchronous instruction for all cohort A and B students.

This is effective beginning Tuesday, January 19th.  All HMHS hybrid students will be required to log into each class on their remote learning days for simultaneous instruction for at least the first 30 minutes of each class period everyday (Monday/Thursday-cohort A and Tuesday/Friday-cohort B).  Wednesday will continue to be a remote day following a half day schedule of simultaneous synchronous instruction.

School and class attendance virtually is mandatory and will be monitored.  In order to assist students and families with the daily schedule, the bell schedule has also been attached (click here for SY20-21 Bell Schedule).

Any change in routine will take time and practice for staff and students as we grow and learn together.  We are always prioritizing the academic needs of our students while balancing their health and well being.   This will allow our students to have more frequent and consistent interactions with teachers and peers.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Mrs. Laura J. Stevenson
Principal
HMHS
