Dear Holbrook School Community,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that a beloved Junior-Senior High School faculty member passed away today. Mr. Dick Monteith or Mr. Mon, as he was lovingly called, was a science teacher, athletic coach, and Robotics Club advisor. His battle with cancer was heroic and he was a role model for the entire school community as he persevered with a positive attitude. During the past year, he, and the many students he loved, were involved in fundraising to bring awareness and a cure for this disease.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Mon’s family during this very difficult time. Because students and faculty are extended members of his family, everyone is feeling the loss. To assist students and faculty, the school district’s counseling staff is available at the Junior-Senior High School this afternoon until 4:00 p.m. or later if needed. Tomorrow the counselors will again be available to provide support.
If parents would like to avail themselves of materials to assist their children with their grief, they may find links on the Junior-Senior High School website. Please call the school office if you would like additional assistance or have other concerns about your children.
